NHS treatment
NHS orthodontic treatment is available for children under 18 years of age with moderately severe problems who require braces for dental health reasons. For example:
- Very crowded teeth
- Teeth that stick out
- Cross-bites and deep bites
If the patient satisfies the Governments' criteria then they will be offered treatment under the NHS.
We are happy to arrange an NHS assessment for all children under 16 ½ years of age when referred by your dentist. We would like to advise you that once we have received the referral there will be a wait of a few months for an assessment.
We are allowed a limited quota for treatments by the NHS accordingly there will be an additional wait of some months before treatment can be started assuming that your child is eligible. These factors are beyond our control.
